Fitbit Sense Gray + BlueBuilt Charger

Early Friday morning, the blue Coolblue bicycle box was already at the door. Which means that I have now had three days of intensive use of the FITBIT sense.
You should NOT take this watch if:
* you want a real smartwatch with many apps etc.
* you are impatient
* you don't wear it in bed

I already have many smartwatches behind me: from the primal PEBBLE, the Moto, almost all Samsungs to this Fitbit. It is the lightest of all, very comfortable to wear [important for sleeping], nice compact design [ideal for smaller wrists], bright screen [even in brighter daylight], long battery life [after three days with hours every day GPS/sports and screen on automatic still 22% left] and oh so many options and settings.
The focus is entirely on the 'health' functions and he does it really great. Especially after a few days of using the many sensors, you will discover the added value of the interplay of the measurements. See eg my 'stress management' score, composed of sleep pattern, heart rate measurement and fitness data. Speaking of 'fitness': heart measurement is 'spot on'. I trained for three days with my POLAR chest strap for 'calibration' and there are not many differences. Anyone who has [had] Samsung watches knows that it is a relief to get accurate measurements and an exact 'climbing stairs' score too! Unfortunately, we cannot say that 'spot on' from the Fitbit app: on my Galaxy flip I have never had crashes, already three times in a short time, especially if you go through to deeper information layers.

Then why not for everyone?
The smartwatch functions are fairly basic. [apps]. More than sufficient for me, but for example listening to Spotify from the watch while walking will not work.
You also have to wait a long time for some measurements: the SPo2 measurement [oxygen saturation], which is important to me, takes no less than 1.10 minutes before it is available. Syncing certain things [watchfaces/GPS connection] is a bit slow. So not for people who want a quick result.
And it is precisely in bed at night that two important sensors work optimally [SPo, skin temperature]. So you're missing out on vital information if you don't wear it.
But otherwise: an advanced watch that no other brands can match for the time being. And then the EKG measurement has yet to come! I'm happy with it!

This Fitbit Sense is a very complete watch / smartwatch / (fitness) tracker / health monitor that also looks nice.

I've had a Fitbit Charge 3 for some time now, which I really like in terms of functions, etc. Still, I was looking for a 'nice watch'.
With most smartwatches, the battery life is downright awful. Charging within 1 to 2 days is no exception. Moreover, a 'nice watch' is difficult to wear at night.
This Fitbit Sense has both. It is a great smartwatch and also a piece of jewelry. There are many dials to choose from very easily, giving your watch a different look and appearance every time. Many are free, many for a fee. All selectable via the Fitbit app on your paired phone. You can load 5 'preferred watch faces' on your Sense as standard, which you can easily switch between.
The watch is very solid. The case is made of aluminum and looks and feels very solid. Nicely rounded corners and the strap is comfortable. In addition, the strap is easily interchangeable with readily available compatible straps, which also allows you to give your watch its 'own' look.
The controls take some getting used to, but they work fine. Getting used to it is also very quick.
You can easily set which apps on your phone you want to receive notifications from on your SAense. You can read WhatsApp messages well on the color screen. But also other notifications from social media, games, your bank, news, etc. etc. You can easily turn it on and off via the Fitbit app on your phone.
In the gym you don't notice that you have a watch on until you need it. For example to activate a timer. This goes very smoothly and makes it easy to manage the time for interval training, for example. Better, more convenient (and for your phone) safer than a smartphone on the floor next to you. And you can feel the vibration.
In addition, you can easily switch the vibration from light to heavy and vice versa. Ideal.
As far as I can judge the measurements (heart rate, steps, sleep, etc.) are accurate. Furthermore, the Sense offers the possibility to measure things such as your skin temperature at night, heart rhythm, saturation (SpO2). If you want to know that: handy. If you don't want that: they don't get in the way...
Making a 30 second heart film is also very easy…
I think the NFC chip is ideal. This makes it possible to put your bank card (protected with a code) on your watch. This way you always have your bank card with you and you can easily pay wirelessly at any PIN terminal.
In the menu you will find all apps. The order of the apps on the screen is easy to adjust, so you can put your frequently used apps on the 1st screen and so on.
The only downside I can think of is the touch-sensitive button on the side. It is sometimes a bit difficult to find.
My conclusion: I am very happy and satisfied with the Sense. I was afraid that the Sense compared to the Charge3, because the Sense is larger, would be more 'in the way', but that is not the case. You will notice it less due to the rounded design. Frankly, the smartwatch meets my expectations beyond expectations.

I think it's a top product, it looks nice, is well made and charging is very easy and fast. The app offers many insights, such as heart rate, number of steps, number of zone minutes (normal, fat burning, cardio and peak) with recommendations based on heart foundation. Many activities are automatically recognized, but you can also start, pause and stop them yourself. Then you get a summary of the activity. It would be nice if the premium subscription would be a little less pricey, because the basic package is already very complete. I can well imagine that after the first six months you decide not to spend the almost 120 euros on an annual basis and still be very happy with the Fitbit Sense. Recommended!
